Biography
Dr. Bashir Aliyu is the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for Gwale State Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, 2027. He holds a Ph.D. in Criminology and Sociology of Deviance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2025), master’s degrees in Crime Management, Prevention and Control (2018) and in Public Policy and Administration (2014) from Bayero University, Kano, and a B.Sc. in Political Science from the same university (1997).
His working life spans teaching and the pharmaceutical sector. He has been on the teaching staff of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board since 2008, and since 2026 has been a voluntary lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Bayero University, Kano. In business he has held management positions, including General Manager of Biram Pharmacy Ltd. (2011–2018), and is currently Executive Director of Kanawa Pharmaceutical Partners Limited and Managing Director of Life Vision Pharmacy. From 2018 to 2024 he was State Chairman of the Association of Pharmaceutical Products Marketers of Nigeria (APPMAN), Kano State Chapter.
His research publications address drug enterprises and crime in Kano Metropolis, the regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, and conflict and security. Closer to home, his record includes community development work in Galadanchi Ward, Gwale Local Government Area, and tutoring at Islamic and extra-lesson classes in Hausawa, Gwale LGA.
